Never been more surprised when we received the results of the DNA. I always like to guess the sex of the babies and most of the time I am right but I was so wrong this time. He is the cuddliest boy I have ever seen. He will come out of his cage and fly around for a bit and then immediately go to anyone for some cuddle time. He took his time with his flying, probably because he had no siblings to push him but now he has real control of it and never misses a landing.

She is exploring her cage and playing with her toys. She is trying new foods, but still requires 3 hand feedings a day. She has started to perch but still likes the bottom of her cage for sleeping. She will start to fly soon, usually around 8 weeks. Within the next couple of days we will pull some feathers and send them out to DNA sex.
Her feathers are really starting to come in and she is very curious now. She gets lots of cuddle and social time in between her naps and feedings. Hard to believe she is 5 weeks already. She will be moving into a cage sometime this weekend but will still have a box in her cage that she can go hide under.
We have a one way viewing window into the breeders room so I was able to get video of the dad feeding the mom so she could feed the baby. Check it out on the video link under 2011 baby pictures. I always find it interesting to be able to observe them, I would love to know what happens in the nest box.
We are going to take the baby from the nest today and start the hand feeding.
Just like 2007, we have one baby this year. He/she will be very spoiled :=)
When she came out of her nest box this morning to get her bean mix there was our first baby. Photo and a short video can be seen in baby pictures.
She did not come out of her nest box yesterday while I was around but when Lorne looked in this morning she had 4 eggs.
Back from our March break after leaving our birds in the vary capable of hands of our bird sitter. When we left we had one egg and now we have 3.
She's early this year, we do not usually get our first egg until March. The only other year we have had an egg in February was in 2008. Lolita has been in an out of the nest box but remained there overnight last night, she came out this morning when I brought them their warm bean mix. I took a peek in the nest and there was her first egg of the season.
