Checked in this evening when Lolita came out for her evening food. The egg has pipped a little more....

Egg #1 started to pip last night, if all goes well we should have a baby soon.
Egg #4 was laid on March 31. I did not candle the eggs this time. She would usually come out of her nest in the morning while I clean the cage allowing me to take that time to candle but instead she has been coming out later in the day. We will just have to wait and see. The first egg is due to hatch out this weekend. My posts will become more frequent at that time.
Egg #3 was laid on March 26. Odie is very protective of the nest and is taking good care of Lolita while she incubates the eggs.
She made an appearance this evening and sure enough there is egg #2
The first egg has been laid. I saw it in the nest box on March 21 but I am quite certain it was laid on March 20. Gave them their bean mix this morning but Lolita did not peek her head out of the nest box to say Hi. I will report back later on whether or not their is another one in there today.
When I went down to feed them this morning, Lolita did not come out of the nest box to see me. I will have to wait until I hear their calls this evening and take the opportunity to peek in and see what is going on.
The nest box was put on February 2nd and Odie & Lolita are very happy about it. She has been in and out of it constantly getting it ready and Odie is doing his duty guarding the nest and his territory, if you aren't careful he will take your finger right off.
Happy New Year to everyone, welcome to the next decade!
All our 2009 babies are sold, 1 of which is awaiting delivery to her new home in February. The days are getting longer, so the parents are going to be thinking of breeding in the the next month or so. If you are looking to place a reservation on an egg, now is the time to do it. After years of using Geocities as our Web Site, we have taken the leap and got ourselves a domain!
