Our Story
M&L Aviaries is named after Michelle and Lorne. When they were married, Michelle brought Chico, a Cinnamon Cockatiel, into their home. Chico didn't think much of this arrangement, specifically Lorne, but they grew on each other. After passing away, Lorne & Michelle wanted a pet that would live a long time, a life commitment. After much research, they settled on Double Yellow Headed Amazons.
First there was Mango, purchased from Brian Eddy's Amazons, a well established breeder in Toronto. A year later, Kiwi was added to the flock. Being at the right place at the right time, Mango's parents became available and were acquired, completing the flock. M&L Aviaries began and have been breeding and raising beautiful, well socialized baby DYH Amazons since 2002.
Michelle and Lorne's busy household includes three children in addition to four Amazons as well as 3-4 babies each year.
